FOUND: VEHICLE VACUUM PUMP LEAKING OIL AND NOT PROVIDING ANY VACUUM. VEHICLE LOW ON COOLANT UPON ARRIVAL. RECOMMEND NEW PUMP UPON REMOVAL OF VACUUM PUMP, TECHNICIAN KEN FOUND THAT THE PUMP HOUSING HAS BEEN SEVERELY DAMAGED FROM THE ROTATING OF THE CAMSHAFT, AND LARGE CHIPS OF THE PUMP HOUSING HAVE BROKEN OFF AND FALLEN INSIDE THE ENGINE. TECH KEN ADVISED KEVIN TO ADVISE THE CUSTOMER TO REMOVAL OF THE VALVE COVER TO FULLY REMOVE ANY METAL PIECES FROM THE PUMP FROM THE ENGINE INTERNALS. CUSTOMER DECLINED THIS PROCESS AT THIS TIME, INSTEAD REQUESTED US TO ATTEMPT TO REMOVE AS MANY PIECES AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT REMOVAL OF THE VALVE COVER. WITHOUT REMOVING THE VALVE COVER WE (DIVERSIFIED AUTOMOTIVE) ARE UNABLE TO GUARANTEE THE REMOVAL OF ALL OF THE PIECES OF THE OLD VACUUM PUMP AND CARRY NO LIABILITY TOWARD POTENTIAL ENGINE DAMAGE DUE TO THIS.
